  • Having a good set of tires can make or break your ride. There are a few factors to take into consideration before ordering new dirt bike tires. Firstly, the terrain. Much like ATV/UTV tires, dirt bike tires are constructed to handle different types of riding. The terrains of dirt bike tires are:Soft

  • Intermediate

  • Hard

  • Sand

Puncture Force Sharp Needle: Pre-2021, this score was known as 'Puncture Resistance'. On some tires with weakly bonded casing wires, the sharp needle can split the casing wires resulting in a lower score.

It's critical to understand our static wet grip test works with a hard surface. This means the grip data is only directly useful for comparing tires on hard surfaces where the rubber compound creates the grip. Understanding the test results gets more difficult when grip is created by the knobs digging into the surface.

The biggest advantage of the WTB Riddler is the tread with the large knobs on the side of the tire. The rolling resistance is not particularly low, but also not particularly high. The main problem with the Riddler is the low scores in the puncture resistance tests of both the tread and sidewalls. In both tests, the Riddler puts down the lowest scores of all CX/Gravel bike tires tested so far.

We give the Riddler a rating of 3 out of 5 because the performance is less but the differences are relatively small. The only deal-breaker we see now is the low puncture resistance that can be a problem if you ride a lot on gravel or experience punctures regularly. Better tires are available, please check our CX/Gravel overview page.

When it comes to driving in winter weather, having the right snow tires matters. Watch the video to see how Bridgestone Blizzak premium winter tires are designed to deliver optimal snow and ice performance. 041b061a72
